Moving On

I have made a couple of decisions: one, to move my blogging to Wordpress and two, to fold my blogs into one—“Views from the Beltline.” You can now find me under that title at http://bill-longstaff.ca. I hope you’ll join me.

About the Blog

This blog is an extension of the book Notes on Democracy. The book analyzes the state of self-governance in a full range of institutions, including politics and government, the workplace, the economy, the media and education, and considers the effects of technological change and globalization. Where an institution is found to be deficient in democracy, the book offers ideas for bringing it closer to the ideal.

The intent of the blog is to follow the comprehensive lead of the book, discussing democracy in all of our institutions, commenting on issues and events that range from peripheral to democracy to those central to it, from theory to practice.

Comments are encouraged. Please keep them respectful, well-reasoned, relevant and literate. Anonymous comments will be neither read nor published. Authors must identify themselves, i.e. have the courage of their convictions. Pseudonyms may be accepted from bloggers I have gotten to know and respect over my many years of blogging.
